Reminder – this Saturday morning (Feb. 11) Barb and I will be holding our monthly town hall meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Green Mtn. Presbyterian Church (Alameda & Mississippi).
The focus will be development in general. We can discuss the results of Monday’s Council approval of a revised Rooney Valley masterplan and latest news regarding the Ohio Ave. Apartment proposal.
At Monday’s Council meeting it was also decided not to go against the Colorado court decision that term limits on an elected official do not count partial terms that are less than two years. This means Ward 1’s Ramey Johnson can run for a second term this November.
Coming up this Monday (Feb. 13) will be a Council work session discussing revisions to the Council’s policies and procedures. This may include reforms to the current public input process. While this is a public meeting open to the public it is unlikely that public comment will be allowed. The session starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Cabinet Room (second floor over the city hall foyer).
The following Saturday (Feb. 18) will be the Council’s annual planning session. This will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Visitor Center at the Lakewood Heritage Center (801 S. Yarrow St.). This session is a public meeting that visitors may observe but not participate.
A Council study session to look at annexation is scheduled for March 27 at 5:30 p.m.
