We have invited a high ranking police department officer to discuss some city issues like Sanctuary Cities, development, and the Green Mountain Fires.  Also our local liaison officer will be with us to discuss local problems and conterfeit money.

As always we will have a major segment on development and other issues that you might want to talk with us about.

Council Planning Session March 18

There is NO City Council meeting this coming Monday(March 13).  The following Saturday (March 18) will be the Council’s annual planning session.  This will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Visitor Center at the Lakewood Heritage Center (801 S. Yarrow St.).  This session is a public meeting that visitors may observe but not participate.  The main purpose is for Council to get testimony from experts saying Lakewood needs more housing.

Annexation Update – March 27 mtg. cancelled

The scheduled March 27 Council study session to look at annexation has been postponed.
The City Clerk says, “The study session regarding Annexation information has been postponed until later this summer so it more closely coincides with when an annexation may be coming before City Council.”
The Planning Director said, “… future hearing dates … will not be set until internal reviews are done: reviews that could take either weeks or months.”  He goes on to say, “The earliest possible that this could appear before Council would be summer …”
