All answers for this question

1) So far I believe you stand up for what the voters want, not your own opinions.

6) Honesty

7) He does an outstanding job of keeping us informed on issues
and happenings affecting Lakwood.

8)

9) He doesn\’t always vote with the rest of the council, like with the huge pay raise for the Mayor.

10) Fiscal ovesight

11) His focus seems to consistently be on \”quality of community.\” Then he networks with various people to try to build consensus.

12) He is the best at keeping the citizens of Lakewood informed, and really seems to care about our city and its residents.

13) Listens to his constituents and votes accordingly at council meetings.

14)

15)

16)

17)

18) He has the mindset and skills of an economist. Betty Boyd was in the medical profession – not useful for running a city. Wiechman has energy and passion that I don\’t see in Boyd. Wiechman is very good at finding a compromise position, not something the Democrats/Boyd are known for. Wiechman has done more to communicate with his constituents than any council member that I can recall.

25) I wish I someone could better reach out to young voters instead of assuming that we won\’t vote and therefore we don\’t matter as much.

26) Lack of voting to give city park\’s back to community versus Green Mountain Football programs taking over our parks to enjoy and damage being done to them.

How can Wiechman do a better job representing you on city council?

All answers for this question

1) Since medical marijuana shops cannot also deal in recreational marijuana, banning recreational shops will lessen the number of these medical marijuana shops. Med marijuana is going to die out when rec shops get going because there is no need to get the scam med mj card. Please vote to ban rec shops in Lakewood. The revenue generated by these shops is not worth the harm to our city.

6) Defeat Betty Boyd

7) By continuing his outreach to his constituents.

11) This poll is a good idea. Having an annual one would help us keep up to date on our feedback to you. Issues change and we don\’t always have knowledge of them.

12) It\’s all good.

18) Regarding the trash issue – I\’ve always wondered why everyone has to contract with their own trash company. The environmentalist in me weeps at the wasted fuel and additional air pollution when garbage trucks drive all the way out to my neighborhood just to pick up a few houses\’ worth of garbage. The noise pollution of garbage trucks 5 days a week is annoying; 1 day of loud engines and high-pitched beeping is much better.

There are many opportunities for compromise on this issue. For example, the numerous trash companies, many of which are small businesses, should not be squashed by a giant such as Waste Management. I would hate for them to be bought up. I prefer competition and the opportunity to prove themselves or fall on their face. The City could create zones where one, and only one, trash company picks up. Customer satisfaction should dictate whether that company gets to keep their territory.

Because of the economies of picking up all houses in a particular zone, service should improve. The cost should go down too. I think everyone in Lakewood should pay the same amount for garbage pickup, regardless of which provider it is. It should be a separate bill, paid to the trash company, NOT paid for by increasing tax rates. Recycling would have to be included.
